Types of Assistance

    Direct Loans:
    Financial assistance provided through the lending of Federal monies for a specific period of time, with a reasonable expectation of repayment. Such loans may or may not require the payment of interest.

    Obligations:
    (Federal Capital Contribution) FY 05 $16,492,726; FY 06 est $0; and FY 07 est $0. (Note: These programs operate from a revolving Federal Capital Contribution Fund, despite no additional annual appropriations. The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2006, Public Law 109-149, included provisions that rescinded the authority of these programs to redistribute monies from the Federal Capital Contribution Fund in FY 2006).

    Range and Average of Financial Assistance:
    $7,900,000 to $18,600; $5,500,000.
