How to Apply

Award Procedure:
The awardees are selected by DHS officials based on the reviewers' evaluation, the applicant's statements/essays, and the goal of attaining racial, gender, and geographical diversity among the recipients of awards. The number of awards depends on availability of funds.

Preapplication Coordination:
None. This program is excluded from coverage under E.O. 12372.

Application Procedure:
Application information may be found at www.dhs.gov. Eligible applications will be reviewed by external reviewers and/or internal reviewers on the basis of the applications submitted. Award decisions are made by DHS program officials.

Deadlines:
Application deadlines are located at: htt://www.dhs.gov.

Range of Approval / Disapproval Time:
Approximately 5 months after receipt of application.

Appeals:
None.

Renewals:
Based on availability of funding and academic progress.
